***A Quick Message To All Visitors***

I have added a guestbook to the site, if you would like to post something in it then feel free to do so!!

Ok, so I'm a day or too late filing my copy, well I have been busy you know!!!

Chester City 0 - 0 Huddersfield Town

The game itself was a bit of a non-event for the first 80 minutes, with very few chances for either team. I felt like shouting "...will the real Huddersfield Town please stand up..."!!! And for the last 10 minutes they did! We started to play as I know we can, stringing some nice moves together. Pav had a couple of decent chances (both saved by the Chester goalkeeper). If only we could have played like that earlier in the game we may have won!!!

In the first half Jacko played the team I'm fairly sure he will start with next Saturday, with Boothy and Luke Beckett up front. Bit disappointed with what I saw of Luke Beckett, I know he will play a lot better than that. The calls for a decent midfielder are justified, although when Chris Brandon came on at half time he played well (no, I'm not just saying that he really did)!

All in all, it was nice to see Jacko and the lads, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again in a fortnight when I'm heading to the Galpharm for the Bristol City match.

A word of caution though, we need to improve if we are to beat Gillingham on Saturday. Jeppo is bound to have his lads wound up for that one, so a good performance will be needed. I will talk more about the coming season in the days to come. I still haven't got round to placing my ante-post bet on Town, probably do that on Friday with Corals.

That's The Way It Is.....

This is my theme tune. I only listen to it when Town are playing, which may sound a bit daft but I associate this song with watching Town play. Its got to the stage where I don't even listen to it during the close season, and although I've posted the link above for everyone else to listen to, I won't be hearing it until Saturday. It wouldn't be right (for me, sad but true)!!

Its been my theme since it was released in 2000, the singer is JoDee Messina. Its the words that apply to me and my life, it struck a chord from the moment I first heard it. "...you live, you learn, you crash and burn - its hit and miss - and that's the way it is.....".

At last, Town's website brings you the news I already announced some time before. I wonder if someone from the club has found their way here, or have Chester been in touch after I e-mailed them the other day.

1 - nil to me either way I'd say!!!

Chester v Huddersfield

Guess what - my own thread on 606 (yes JulieLovesJacko = me)!!

Take a look.........

JulieLovesJacko on Huddersfields Prospects

Just found this on the BBC Sport website.

Boothy's Testimonial

Jacko (obviously)

Saturday can't come quick enough............. Come On Town!!!

Huddersfield Town 0 - 0 Real Sociadad

No goals, but it sounds like Boothy's testimonial went well. To keep a clean sheet against one of the top Spanish sides is excellent and bodes well for the new season. Fantastic, bring it on.

Now I am looking forward to Saturday.............

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

I have received a reply from Chester City. Its a fiver for adults and free for under 15's and - get this - "......Huddersfield Town have already been informed of this decision............"

Pity no-one thought to tell the official website then!!!!!!!!!!! Roll on Saturday.

Monday, July 24, 2006

Further to my earlier post about the prices for the Chester match, I have fired off an e-mail to Chester City FC to try and clarify the situation. I am told that to charge the away fans more than the home fans is illegal. I await their reply with interest.

Simply The Best........

Well, tomorrow night is Andy Booth's testimonial match versus Real Sociadad - I'm posting this now as I'm going to be busy all day tomorrow (pesky horse racing **tut**)!!!

No-one at the club deserves this more, Boothy is a living legend at Town and will always be so.

Thought I'd post his picture by way of a tribute.......

Sunday, July 23, 2006

Received an e-mail from a fellow Terrier this morning enquiring if I really WAS Jacko's Gal.

Only in my dreams..... ***laughs***

I pointed out politely that 'Gal' is short for Galpharm (clever that), but of course it doesn't quite look that way............

Good News everyone.........

Huddersfield Town 1 - 0 Swindon Town

A second half goal from Chris Brandon ( \o/ yay \o/ - sorry folks, I'm a fan) was enough, though it sounds as if it was an excellent performance all round. We lose the tourny on goal difference though.

Next match is Boothy's testamonial next Tuesday against Real Sociadad. (No player at Town deserves this more, Andy Booth is a total and utter legend).

Thursday, July 20, 2006

Just turned up something interesting on Chester City's website - take a look...........

Chester v Huddersfield

But on Town's website it says that we Terriers will be paying a tenner apiece and kids a fiver. Not fair imo.

A few more piccies.......

Its a lonely old life managing a football team!!

Chris Brandon (nice.........)

Andy Holdsworth

The ever gorgeous Jacko

(I mean it)!!!

News from Town's website............

Ibiza Select XI 2 - 1 Huddersfield

Fletch scored first for us. I gather that the Ibiza team is made up of semi-pro's!!!! Had to laugh at Jacko's comments ".........we could've won 5 or 6 nil......"!!!!!!!!!

We had more than one goal ruled out for one reason or another, so perhaps it doesn't look that bad on the face of it. Our last match is against Swindon on Thusday, although the tournament will be over for us if Ibiza beat them tonight.

Monday, July 17, 2006

The Copa Ibiza starts this week, but can't see anything on Town's website about it, aside from the dates. Nothing has been updated since the Harrogate friendly on Thursday night.

Good news, persuaded my hubby to let me go to the Bristol City game on the 12th August. I try to get to as many home matches as possible, and all the local (to me) away ones, but as I work most Saturdays getting the time off to go can sometimes be tricky, but I am DEFINATELY going to be off for that one - BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!

Harrogate 1 - 1 Huddersfield

I know I am a day or two late with this, but I was stuck in work for twelve hours yesterday with no time to post!!!

Not quite the scoreline we would have wanted, but I gather these are a better side than Emley. And I am delighted that Luke Beckett scored - the start of things to come I hope. When I saw the scoreline I did have a little chuckle to myself as I had heard that Jacko was promising the lads extra training if we conceded a goal!!!! In this heat as well, ha ha!!!

Maybe I should also be saying Rabs nil, Matty one..............

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Another friendly tonight. Our new signings Matt Glennon and Luke Beckett are starting tonight away at Harrogate. Should be another easy win.

Its a really nice night tonight and I'm stuck in work. I hate Night Racing.

Wednesday, July 12, 2006

AFC Emley 0 - 3 Huddersfield
A successful start. Boothy, McAliskey and Collins, and if it wasn't for the Emley keeper it would have been a cricket score. Start as you mean to go on guys!!!

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Tonight is our first pre season friendly at Emley. I am working tonight, so I'll be thinking of the lads, there in spirit. COME ON TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, July 9, 2006

Day off today. I'm wearing my Town shirt for the first time since we lost to Barnsley. I thought I would give it a rest during the close season. My husband always says he's fed up of seeing me wear it all the time as it is, never mind when we are not actually playing.

Pre season friendlies start this week. AFC Emley on Tuesday is first. Two weeks next Saturday I'm going to the friendly at Chester. I'll take my 9 year old nephew with me I think. Been trying to brainwash him into supporting Huddersfield for years, but he prefers Liverpool!!!!!! This will be his first Town game, I hope he'll enjoy it enough to want to go again. We will see.

Saturday, July 8, 2006

A bit off topic this, but its worth a mention.

I work in a bookies, and my favourite jockey is Kieren Fallon. Followed him for years. Yestreday he was banned from riding in the UK because he is involved in a race fixing trial. It could be twelve months before it comes to court. Its an outrageous decision, guilty without anything being proved, a scandal. I sent a text to the Racing Post in disgust expressing my anger - and they went and printed it!!! Its on Page 15, right in the top corner; but reading it back now, I may have been a tad hasty with my final comment about being "....through with racing....".

Fame at last!!!!

Friday, July 7, 2006

Just finished a game of on-line Scrabble against an Oldham Athletic supporter. He thinks that Luke Beckett is past it. Makes you laugh. They'd have given anything to have him stay at Boundary Park. Jealous just about covers it.

A Living Legend

Just got my first ante-post coupon for next season from Corals. They go 12-1 about Town to win League One, and I'm fairly sure that's best price. But I will still wait until I have seen the odds from William Hill, Ladbrokes and BetFred before I make up my mind.

Might do well to avoid Ladbrokes in hindsight. Fella who works there sees me coming and laughs his head off because he knows I only bet on Huddersfield. Can't remember the last time I had a winning bet when he was there, it was someone else last time I had money to collect.

I like to bet in anonimity though. Ok, I work in a bookies, and if you go in somewhere often enough you know their betting habits ("... oh there's that bloke who only bets on Irish racing..." for instance), so I guess I get all I ask for. But I'd prefer to put my bets on without the third-degree! Maybe time for a change; that said, Ladbrokes were best price about Huddersfield nearly every week, and thats why I bet there (value - the most expensive word in gambling). Maybe they were best price on purpose.............

A few of the players...........

A few pictures............
Our Ground, The Galpharm Stadium

Gary Taylor-Fletcher scores against Barnsley in the play-offs (oh what could've been, so near yet so far)

Our beloved Manager, Peter Jackson

Another hot day, except I am in work and the air con's on - result!!!

One month to the new season (yes, I'm counting). Mind you, its only three weeks until the pre season friendly at Chester. Looking forward to that.

Tuesday, July 4, 2006

One month and one day until the new season, can't wait. The weather is absolutely scorching today, glad its my day off.

Random thought for the day. How many games will Town play before Jacko says "....this is a massive game for us......"

Monday, July 3, 2006

Today we've finally signed Luke Beckett from Sheffield United. Its taken a while for us to get him, but he's finally here. He came to Town on loan a couple of seasons back and scored for fun. More of the same please!!!!

Hi there, my name is Julie. I'm 33 and come from Crewe in Cheshire. I'm married to Sam.

The subject of this blog is the other love of my life, Huddersfield Town FC. I've been a supporter since 1990.

Oh yeah, I'm also known as Jacko's Gal (Jacko in reference to our beloved Manager Peter Jackson, and Gal is short for Galpharm Stadium (our ground), although it doesn't quite read like that...........).

This is the the story of my season.
