Julie's Season's Eve Summary

As always, I look forward to the new season. Everyone starts with a clean slate. I am always confident we will do well.

Close Season

Since we lost in the playoffs, transfer activity has been thin on the ground, but I am convinced we definately got the best signing of the lot in Luke Beckett. I remember when he played for us the last time, and if him and Boothy can link up well again its going to rain goals this season. From what I saw of Matt Glennon against Chester he seemed sound enough. I think he'll be in goal tomorrow.

In Conclusion

If we can stay steady at the back (if Nathan Clarke has a good season he'll be off to somewhere bigger make no mistake), and should our midfield create enough chances (because we have the best forward line in the division bar none) then we could well be the team to beat. If we can make the Galpharm our fortress, as we did for the vast majority of the season, and we can nick wins away then I see no reason why we won't be challenging for promotion again. We've improved every season since Jacko returned, and I fully expect the improvement to continue. (God, I hope these words don't come back to haunt me.......)

Main Challengers

Our main rivals are going to be the usual suspects - Swansea, Nottm Forest, Bristol City - but there could be a suprise or two in store (look at Southend and Colchester last season). I don't see a whole lot to worry me though.

Here's Jacko's thoughts......
