Huddersfield Town 3-2 Swansea City

If I live to be 100 I doubt I will ever witness a match like this one - it had everything. Thrills - you got it! Goals - you got it! Drama - you got it!!!! My perserverence through the drizzling rain was rewarded in spades!

Town had the best of the early play, Fletch, Worthy and Matty Young all missed good chances, and I was sat there thinking it was going to be a good day - I should've known better. Matty Glennon felled a Swansea player in the box (just as well the player was running away from goal or we could have been down to 10 men) and Lee Trundle despatched the resulting spot-kick (despite Glennon guessing correctly).

Andy Holdsworth limped off injured, and Jacko brought Pawel Abbot on in his place, and Town went to 2 upfront.

Now, its bad enough trying to beat 11 opposing players, but when you have to try to defeat the officials as well.......... just before half-time the linesman who was running the line in front of me in the LB Lower gave a throw the wrong way (it was quite clearly a Town throw). Cue Swansea to take no notice, and Town conceded a goal reminiscent of many I've seen them let in this season - Lee Trundle striding round our defenders to score again. We were incesnsed (ok you can't blame the referee or the linesman for piss poor defending), Jacko particularly so - and gave the linesman the in-your-face hairdryer treatment!!!! The referee had the formality of sending our beloved leader to the stands for the second time this season.

I tried to keep my cool...... not very successfully though "...cheating t***, I'll get you linesman, got your number mate, I'll have you, cheating b******...".

Half-time, and I'm ringing Sam up "...its a shambles love, Jacko's been sent off again, its all going wrong **groan**..." Little did I know what the second half was to bring...

All in all, Town were playing well to be honest, and reward was to come when Pav crossed it in from the byline for Worthy to score with a fantastic first-time shot - and then we were in raptures a second time 10 minutes later when Chris Brandon (my man of the match, he ran his socks off bless him) set up Pawel Abbott for a well taken effort, and Town were back on terms with 15 minutes to go.

Would we get a winner - we had chances, but as the weather deterierated so did the pitch - slipping and sliding became the order of the day - but in a dramatic injury time Town were not to be denied - Pawel Abbott was upended by a clumsy challenge in the box - PENALTY!! And it was the cool Pole himself who hammered it straight down the middle to put Town in front - fantastic (could Pav's Pen change our season).

The drama still hadn't finished, when deep into stoppages, Swanseas two-goal hero Lee Trundle was handed a straight red card when he appeared (to me from where I was watching) to raise a forearm or an elbow at Boothy as Swansea were taking a free kick - does it get any better than this????
