Just thought I would have a quick look at the remaining fixtures that Town have until the end of the season, and our chances (imho):
- Town v Brentford - the Bees are having a worse season than we are, but recent results have been improved - we should still have enough to win - Town to win 2-0 or 3-0
- Rotherham v Town - if our defence holds up we shoud safely negotiate this local derby, 1-0 or 2-1 to us).
- Town v Crewe - easiest three points this season, Town to run riot (Julie to get lynched when she gets back home). Biggest win of the season 5-0. Easy, easy!!!
- Nottm Forest v Town - not confident about this one, if we get a point we will be doing well, even though Forests form has been a bit and miss since new year. Forest to win 1-0 (but a 1-1 draw would be good).
- Town v Bradford - picking up from where we left off against Crewe, a massive crowd to witness one-way traffic - Town to triumph 3-0.
- Carlisle v Town - would have thought this could be a banana skin, but the way they folded second half against Yeovil yesterday gives me hope - town to scrape through 1-0 (but 1-1 would not be the worst result).
- Brighton v Town - a nice day out at the seaside for the faithful followers - Town to win 2-1 or 3-1
- Town v Port Vale - excellent chance for a league double against an average Vale side. 2-0 win for us.
- Oldham Athletic v Town - play like we played in the home fixture against them and WE WILL NOT WIN - can see us losing here to be honest 1-0, or 2-0 (anything better would be a bonus, they look like champions to me).
- Town v Blackpool - if can get this far still in the hunt for the playoffs, then this will be an EXTREMELY important fixture - A nice sunny day and a (possible) Town victory - 2-1 or 3-1, and a very Happy Easter.
- Scunthorpe United v Town - another difficult away fixture - perhaps we should shut-up-shop for this one, 0-0 or 1-1.
- Town v Millwall - the Lions are improving slowly, but we should still take care of them - 2-0 win for Town.
- Northampton v Town - the Cobblers best form is away from home, and I am hopeful we will take advantage of this - 1-0 Town (but I would settle for a point).
- Town v Leyton Orient - lets finish the regular season in style. An easy win, and hopefully (other results permitting) a berth in the playoffs.
The above will give Town a total of anything between 70 and 77 points (quick mental arithmetic) - and we should be in the play-offs, as this points total is comparable with the 73 we got last season. But there is still some way to go.............
