Carlisle United 1-1 Huddersfield Town
I said a point would be a good return from this game, but it was so nearly all three!!
It wasn't the greatest game ever seen by all accounts, with the weather being blustery and the rain lashing down, but Town managed to take a deserved lead when Luke Beckett headed home Andy Taylors cross in the 26th minute. Carlisle equalised in injury time at the end of the first half - Joe Garner bundling home when Matty Glennon spilled the ball, and although the linesman appeared to rule the goal out for a foul on the Town stopper the referee decided the goal should stand.
Second half Town and Carlisle both had chances, but with conditions deteriorating neither side could find a way through - Carlisle going nearest though right at the end when Joe Garner was through one on one with Matt Glennon - he went down trying to get a penalty, but the referee said the Carlisle player dived, and he was sent off for a second yellow card.
Gerry Murphy on Carlisle v Town (written)
A good point I think, a tricky place to go to is Carlisle and I am pleased with this result.
It was murder trying to follow it at work - we all had an e-mail earlier in the week that ALL extraneous websites were not to be used at the workstations - even Bet 365s website was only to be used for "...business purposes....", and the browser to be closed immediately after use. Was caught by a supervisor while trying to access Livescore "...can you close that page, ta...", it is that strict!!!
