THE HUDDERSFIELD TOWN NEW MANAGER STAKES!!!

Thought I would have a look some of the possibilities......

In no particular order:

Andy Ritchie - heavily favoured by some, lost his job at Barnsley in November despite winning the play offs last season. Was spotted at the Galpharm on Saturday.

Conclusion: Not surprised to see his name near the top of most peoples list, doesn't excite me as a potential Town manager though.

Kevin Blackwell - Been out of football since being sacked by Leeds last September. Been doing his homework since though by learning coaching techniques abroad. Ex-Town goalkeeper.

Conclusion: Would definitely interest me as a candidate. However, I'm sure I heard he is taking his former employers to court - do we want the baggage?

Gary Megson - Former Nottingham Forest and West Brom manager - was a failure at the former, successful at the latter. Been out of work just over 12 months.

Conclusion: Not for me. Did no good at Forest, if he did get our job I give him 12 months. Also spotted at The Galpharm on Saturday.

Ronnie Jepson - Current Gillingham manager, and hero of mine when he played for Town. Gillingham chairman approached for permission to speak to him on Friday. Permission denied.

Conclusion: Obvious candidate given his history at Town. Done little at Gillingham, but had little to do it with!! Would advocate his employment more on sentimental grounds, I admit. Would be seen as another Jacko.

Micky Adams - Former Coventry manager, lost his job after Christmas after a run of poor results. Likable, still highly regarded at Leicester City.

Conclusion: This sounds more like it to me. An interesting candidate, feel sure he must have applied - has to be worth an interview - would be an excellent appointment.

Jim Gannon - Current Stockport manager, has worked wonders there - young, up and coming, used to working on a shoestring. If Stockport didn't get promotion, feel sure that he may tempted up a division.

Conclusion: Would be my clear choice of manager - however, has been described as a "..Stockport Man..." as Jacko was a "...Huddersfield Man...", if you see what I mean. Living in the North-West have seen a lot of Stockport on the tv, and what I see impresses me. really like this guys management style. Ticks every single box for me - an enquiry would cost nothing would it??

Phil Parkinson - Currently assistant manager at Charlton Athletic. Got Colchester out of League One, but his spell at Hull City lasted less than 6 months.

Conclusion: Has what it takes to manage at this level, would be available as I understand that his contract with Charlton is only until the end of the season. Could see him as Town boss, would do a good job for us I reckon.

As things stand I can't see the new boss not being one of the aforementioned seven, however its not my call - Mr Davy has made it clear that there is no rush - lets hope he makes the right decision.
