I am writing this before the large bottle of chardonnay kicks in.............
Had all day to mull over whats happened - I am only two weeks into my new job of course, so I owed it to them to give 100% even though I felt far, far from that!!!
When I found out the news this morning I admit I had a quiet cry. What else would you expect?? I was exactly the same the first time he was sacked (was working in a shop that day, went in the toilets to shed my tears on that occasion).
If I have my Town supporting head on for just a moment, I have to say that maybe this was the right decision. We appear to be going nowhere fast this season - I would be a liar to suggest I hadn't seen this coming by the by, I saw it as long ago as November. (I remember on my way home from my abortive trip to the Scunthorpe match thinking I would be lucky if I saw PJ again). I only hope the board make the correct decision as far as a replacement goes (more later).
With my Jacko supporting head back on, I openly admit I will miss him terribly. It was no co-incidence that my seat of choice in the McAlpine / Galpharm has been within a short distance of the home dugout (it remained the same, by the way, even when Bruce / Macari / Wadsworth were in charge, the LB lower is my spiritual home and will stay that way whoever is in charge). It will take a little getting used to, but I got over it last time, and I will again.
Managers come and go, but I am a TOWN FAN FOR LIFE. 100% TERRIER - TTID!!!
As for a replacement, well my choice would be Ronnie Jepson (have said this in the past), but I guess I would be accused of being blinkered by the fact that he is also one of my all-time favourite Town players, however I would be happy with Kevin Blackwell or, if the club are ambitious enough to go to League Two and persuade Jim Gannon to leave Stockport - that would be a fantastic appointment, but as Mr Davy says they are inviting applications then that would seem to rule that out.
But time to move on, and look forward post-Jacko (I am doing my best although at this early stage I am having severe trouble) to Saturdays match against Bradford - and hopefully 3 points for the lads in the stripes - COME ON TOWN!!!!!!!!
