Looks like we are heading for the Loans market for any further signings, so says AR on the Official Website:
Ritchie: Loan Signings A Possibility
...and the Chris Brandon saga drags on and on and on....

Just to let you know, this Weblog reaches an important Milestone next week - our 1st Birthday - but more of that to come!!

Been trying to sort out time off to attend a few matches early season, and after initial difficulties (the usual, too many Saturdays) everything is settled, and fingers crossed I will be at both the Yeovil and Carlisle games, and, of course, at the Crewe away game in September. All the holidays I asked for are now confirmed - now bring it on!!!!

The situation regarding Chris Brandon may well be nearing its conclusion.
AR: Brando Can Go - But Not For Free
This would be the only way I would be happy for Chris to go as well. The extra money would come in handy I suppose, and as I have said in the past who are we to stand in his way if he wants to play at a higher level. Glad that AR would take him back though if it came to that.

At last, it is official - we have signed Malvin Kamara - I am delighted!!
Town Sign Kamara on 2 Year Deal
He looked more than useful in the Port Vale game, this has made my day - he will be an excellent acquisition, can't wait to see him play - nice work Town.
***: Edit:
I've just read the whole article again, and I've just noticed the last paragraph....
"...I'm always looking to add to the squad and if something comes up that is too good to turn down, then i will try to twist the board's arm. They've been very good to me and they've allowed me to have a bigger squad than we had initially planned for..."
I beg his pardon????? Haven't we released 7 players, Rabs and probably Brando as well, but we've only signed three!!! Some sums in the adding department not quite right here - our squad is STILL adequate at best, threadbare at worst. Not wishing to put a negative spin on this (because Kamara is a quality signing, and there's no telling how much his wages and those of DC and FS are going to cost), but I think we have been cheated here - surely AR intended to bring more players in, except - surprise, surprise - no money again.
Not happy about this at all. Disgraceful actions by the board - feel sorry for AR if his hands are tied, but how many times have we had this before, it's laughable.

Time to catch up with some news.
Hudson Goes To Rotherham
Remind me to place a 1st goalscorer bet when they play Bradford will you!
Also, I am disappointed to learn that AR thinks we have enough strikers since we signed Danny Cadamateri - forgive me for not being in total agreement with that one, we could do with one more I would say. Any new signings (I expected to see at least one while I was away) would be welcome!

Here are next seasons fixtures - I now have some important planning to do!
Huddersfield Town Fixtures 2007/2008
I'm a bit peeved to see us a home to Crewe on Boxing Day - I haven't been a match on Boxing Day since I used to watch Crewe, and that was the early 90's. It is one of the very busiest days in my job, and the lack of trains of course, mean I will most probably be absent (curses), however, I will do everything I can to make sure I am present for the away fixture on the 8th September.
1st job for me when I get back to work tomorrow is make arrangements for a day off on August 11th, it would be nice to be there for the first fixture of the season if at all possible. After that, well it is probably wait and see, but if I can get to as many matches as I did last season (13) I will be happy - any more than that would be a bonus! I notice we are at home for my birthday weekend, so that should definitely be a trip over. I have a bit of planning to do now!!!

Ah, it's nice to be back. In case anyone was wondering about the recent inactivity on this site it is because me and Sam have been away for a few days, in Sams mates caravan in North Wales. Ok, not very exciting but it was still a break. We weren't due back until today, but yesterdays inclement weather (being stuck in the van was becoming a bit tedious) meant we headed home early. It was the first time we had stayed in the caravan since 2004 (although Sams mate (an ex-work colleague now retired) and his wife excitedly invite us to stay every time we bump into them in Crewe town centre), and it seemed to me that nothing had changed in all that time!! Caravan looked the same, the cafe on the front remained the same, the Sunday market was the same, the arcades looked the same - even the same entertainment prevailed in the pub where we went to at night-time.
I had to adopt my pre-Internet Town supporting habits - Teletext Rules - much to Sams annoyance ("...we're away ffs, can't you leave it for 1 week..."). So although I haven't yet caught up with all the news yet, i am in the process of doing so. Seen some of the fixtures, but I'll cover them in a bit.

Good news - there is some money after all!!
Ritchie - Budget Increased
Any news involving more money to buy players with is always welcome - now lets see who AR can persuade to sign. I am also grateful for the news regarding Chris Brandon, hopefully that situation will become a bit clearer soon - as AR says if Brando is offered a contract by Blackpool and wants to stay then who are we to stand in his way (the compo would be handy as well of course). I would have no problem with that, just a bit disappointed naturally, as he is my favourite player!!

Was watching TV after I got home from work last night, and saw this......
Seabrooks Crisps (click on TV Ads then Screen 2)
I had to look twice when I saw it, thought it was the Galpharm at first glance then thought "...no it can't be..." - but it is!!

A new signing to report, forgive me for not jumping through hoops (just yet) about it!
Town Sign Danny Cadamateri
I'll overlook that he is ex Leeds / Bradford
I'll overlook his drugs ban
I remember him being a decent player in his Everton days, and if he retains even a shred of his ability then he'll probably do us a good job, I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him play. Just glad we've managed to persuade someone to sign (in the face of competition from other clubs as well).
