This seasons squad numbers have been announced - with an omission or two shirt-wise...

Matt Glennon keeps the number 27 shirt leaving Rabs number 1 unoccupied.

Shirt 10 (GTF) and Shirt 16 (Tosh) do not have any owners yet.

Tom Clarke has Adnan Ahmeds number 12 shirt instead of the number 14.

How many other teams don't have a number 1 or 10 in their squad - although maybe if Robbie Williams does end up signing he would be number 10 perhaps.

The Full List:

2 Andy Holdsworth, 3 Joe Skarz, 4 Michael Collins, 5 David Mirfin, 6 Nathan Clarke, 7 Chris Brandon, 8 Jon Worthington, 9 Danny Cadamateri, 11 Danny Schofield, 12 Tom Clarke, 13 Fank Sinclair, 15 Malvin Kamara, 17 Matty Young, 18 Luke Beckett, 19 Aaron Hardy, 20 Danny Racchi, 21 Lucas Akins, 22 James Berrett, 23 Andy Booth, 24 Mitchell Bailey, 25 Luke Malcher, 26 Simon Eastwood, 27 Matt Glennon.

Rochdale 3-0 Huddersfield Town

Back down to earth with an almighty bump! Maybe those results against the non-league opposition flattered us, or is this just a minor blip? More worrying given the fact it was pretty much a full strength Town side playing. We found ourselves 2 down in the first 4 minutes courtesy of two Matt Glennon errors, and the third came by way of a penalty after the half-hour mark. A very average Town performance putting it mildly.

I was actually off work yesterday, and so in all honesty I could have made the jouney as it is not far for me - but attending my sisters barbecue has ended up being the correct choice after all!

Bradford Park Avenue 0-1 Huddersfield Town

A nice run out for the players who didn't figure against Hucknall - and another victory!! A goal from Andy Booth, set up by Chris Brandon, enough to secure the West Yorkshire Cup once more.

If you think your eyes are deceiving you, well they are not. I have had to revert to the old layout, as I have been having terrible trouble with the new template - vanishing text the main problem, making it awfully difficult to read - thought it was just my PC with the problem, but when the same thing occured on the computer at work I had to take action!!

Hucknall Town 1-3 Huddersfield Town

Well, this is becoming a recurring theme - another impressive Town win. Joe Skarz, Luke Beckett and an excellent effort from Danny Schofield mean Town win at a canter yet again!! Long may this sort of form contuinue.

Bridlington Town 1-6 Huddersfield Town

Well, that's a good result, putting it mildly!! Two more goals for Danny Cadamarteri, two for Malvin Kamara and one apiece for Luke Beckett and Mitchell Bailey made two wins on the spin - 9 goals in 2 games, looking good! Ok, it was only a friendly but all these goals can only instill confidence with the new season now less than 3 weeks away. Nice work!!

Town are in friendly action again today, away at Bridlington. It is still on as far as I know, even though the weather has been especially inclement for July.

AFC Emley 0-3 Huddersfield Town

A comfortable victory against poorish opposition. Danny Cadamarteri scored a penalty on his Town debut, other scorers were Luke Beckett and Matty Young. Malvin Kamara looked useful by all accounts, and one of my correspondents has been kind enough to inform me that a certain C Brandon was outstanding - good to hear!!

I had a conversation with a friend of my step-son a few weeks back and basically he said would I be going to the friendly that Town were having against Stoke - I told him he must be mistaken as there wasn't one, only wish there was because there are no friendlies at all near me this pre-season. He was adamant that we were playing Stoke at some point - and it turns out he was right all along, to a degree.........

Behind Closed Doors

So, here I am, working in Stoke On Trent, found out today that last night when I was hard at work not 2 miles away, my beloved Terriers were in action - charming - there is not one friendly that is near me this pre-season - Mansfield being the nearest and that is miles and miles away - and when they are local its behind closed blooming doors!!!!!

Second rant (well, sort of) - I haven't succumbed to temptation yet and purchased a new shirt - unusual for me, I own 1/2 a wardrobe full (according to Sam anyway) of replica kits past and present. These issues with the quality of the new ones worry me though, and by the time the new batch is available in September I will probably only get 8 months wear out of it (I sometimes wear my old shirts around the house, usually wear the most up to date one if I wear one when I am out and about, apart from my 2003 / 2004 on occasion (a particular favourite)).

So now I don't know what to do - is it worth forking out £40 quid, only for us to have a special centenary one next season? Don't know. If I did get one Sam would be furious if he knew it was for this season only!!

Wonder how the lads are getting on against Emley........

The first pre-season friendly takes place tomorrow night with a trip to AFC Emley. Hopefully we can start as we mean to go on with a win.

Just as we thought it was a done deal.............

Williams Deal in Jeopardy

Unbelievable! Maybe we will sign him anyway and wait, who knows. It's a bitter blow regardless.

A new signing on the horizon:

AR: Williams Deal Almost Done

...that's Robbie Williams - not that Port Vale supporting singing one, the one that plays for Barnsley - lets hope that if he does join us he has "...No Regrets..." and is "...Strong...", and who knows "...Something Beautiful..." may come his way....... Sorry, Sorry, Sorry - couldn't resist!!

Regrettably, the rumours are true and Gary Taylor-Fletcher is no longer a Town player.

GTF Moves to Blackpool

Shame that, but as I have said previously maybe he deserves his break - and best wishes to him. Mind you, he says it wasn't an easy decision to make.

GTF - Difficult Decision To Make

I'm sad to see him go.

The jungle drums are beating rather loudly at present - it is hard to keep up, but here goes. Firstly, Danny Schofield is NOT going to Yeovil:

Ritchie - Schofield Stays

Rumours are also abound that GTF is going to Blackpool, with Chrissie B coming back the other way - I hope only half of that turns out to be true, but have strong suspicions otherwise. Be a shame if GTF goes, ok so it is a division higher, and we would get a fee, but he is one of our better players at the end of the day.

The lads are back in for their Pre-Season Training - and that includes Chris Brandon - does that mean he is staying after all?

Happy Birthday A Terriers Tale

Wheel out the birthday cake, hang up the bunting - today we are One years old!! It is true to say though that the last twelve months are 50 times more likely to be remembered for what happened off the pitch than on it - our inauspicious mid-table finish proof of that - but still, quite a bit happened, and forgive the self-indulgent backslapping here (it is my site after all!) I am very proud of my work over this past year.

Here is a selection of some of my favourite (and not so favourite because of the subject matter) postings from our first year of production, the earlier ones more for the benefit of readers who have only found there way here lately and may not have seen my earlier articles.

A slap on the wrists for Sky Sports over this factually incorrect article with AR talking about Danny C.

Andy Ritchie Hails New Signing
