Huddersfield Town 2-0 Luton Town
The mighty Terriers stop the rot in decent fashion - aided by the returning Frank Sinclair, a start for Danny Cadamateri and a debut for Ronnie Wallwork - by beating a good Luton side in front of over 9000 fans (the gate up on what most thought it would be courtesy of a local schools promotion).
In front of a "...subdued atmosphere..." (so said Paul Ogden, citing the early kick off for that (how I know he said that I'll explain later)) .
Both sides pretty much cancelled each other out early on - the referee being the busiest participant, dishing out a few yellow cards - Town having the best chance when Cadamateris shot was harmlessly gathered up by the Luton goalkeeper.
We took the lead in the 36th minute; Matty Glennons long free kick up field falling to Danny Cadamateri, his shot parried by the keeper into the path of Luke Beckett, who was able to take his time before putting his shot away. It stayed 1-0 at the break.
Luton were down to 10 men almost immediately in the second half; Paul Furlong, already booked in the first half for persistent fouling, received his marching orders after a nasty elbow challenge on Richard Keogh (probably would have been a straight red under any other circumstances anyway).
Town wrapped up the win in the 60th minute. A lovely move involving Chris Brandon and Andy Holdsworth set Danny Cadamarteri on his way, and he made no mistake by rounding the keeper, and stroking the ball into the net despite 2 Luton defenders tracking back.
More goal chances fell to Andy Holdsworth and Ronnie Wallwork, but it stayed 2-0. Thankfully, even though Adam Pearson was in the ground, the supporters were more interested in what was going on the pitch, rather than what might be happening off it. An excellent win (amazing what a few older heads can do), and Town can be full of confidence for the visit of Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Was on my way to work when Town kicked off. Sams words of "...concentrate on the road..." were ringing in my ears, so apart from having "...That's the Way..." on my i-pod, I tried not to think too much of what might have been happening! As things happened, I arrived at work early (not much traffic on the roads), and as I pulled up on the car park a brainwave ensued.
Stoke on Trent is quite high up, and the wind might just be in the right direction - any chance I might be able to pick up a weak signal on 774 MW from Radio Leeds? Had to be worth a try - and it worked!! Ok, it was fairly faint, kept drifting in and out, and was constantly interrupted by another station broadcasting on a similar frequency, but I could hear Oggy & Kieran alright, could make out what was happening, and managed to spend 10 minutes listening to the game (missed the goals though).
Its brilliant what can be achieved if you try!!!
