...and from what I have been told, a completely fair reflection. Yes, I'm upset and disappointed - but I am also extremely angry. These wretched results all seem to be following the same pattern - a lively Town opening, only to go behind, then completely fold. 4 matches (3 league + 1 JPT), 3 goals for, 12 goals against. Its a disgrace, and I'm absolutely furious.
Now, the daft thing is had I been off work today I may well have attended (one of my first thoughts yesterday morning was that I wished I was going) - I haven't been to Northampton before, but I know a few who have and, I'm told, it's straightforward to get to with parking-a-plenty. Glad I was in work instead......
Town had Boothy and Luke Beckett up front (even AR must see that this just doesn't work), and aside from winning headers they achieved nothing. In fact, the first half was a bit of a non-event, with neither side creating a great deal - even so Town still managed to contrive to go in a goal behind, Poul Hubertz scoring right on half time, another goal conceded from a corner (how often does this keep happening).
Second half Town were just not at the races. Even the introduction of Danny Cadamateri for an overdue debut did nothing to halt the mediocrity. Northamptons 2nd and 3rd goals coming in the space of 5 minutes (62 & 66 minutes) courtesy of Andy Holt & Andy Kirk, the referee may as well have blown for full time then and there. Hopeless, useless, pathetic, embarrassing.

Didn't finish work until 9pm last night, but I had already received word about the result. I couldn't see Sky Soccer Saturday from where I was sat, and there were too many Supervisors wandering about for many Livescore updates, but I had enough information to know we were losing. Got to the club about 1/4 to 10, and prior to this my husband, so he says "..was having a quiet drink 'til you showed up...", as at least 6 concerned souls wandered over to me, some wanting to know how we'd got on, some who already knew. I'm quite happy to answer all questions, and debate, but sometimes (last night a case in point) Sam gets a bit begrudging (my reputation tends to precede me unfortunately). "...I haven't seen you all day, then all I get is this, f****** Huddersfield Town - f****** useless team going f****** nowhere." For once I'm inclined to agree.......
And don't even begin to mention Chairman and Rugby Clubs!! As predicted, we are kicking off at 12 noon for no good reason next weekend. Expect an extremely low attendance, and maybe a demonstration......
