Good news. Looks like Luke Beckett might not be going anywhere just yet after all.

Beckett Back For Pre Season

The lads return to training on Friday, and if this turns out to be right I'll be pleased. I am left wondering whether wage demands, for instance, are the reason he is still with us?

Whatever the whys and wherefores, I have mentioned before that trying to get my nephew interested in HTFC is difficult enough, but having a striker of the same christian name is somewhere to start from!!

We might not have to wait long for more activity on the transfer front according to both Dean Hoyle and Stan Ternent.

Hoyle: New Blood Imminent

Ternent: Three More Signings A Possibility

All promising news indeed!! A friend in the know (well, he knows somone in the know put it that way) tells me a certain former Town centre-half of yesteryear is set to return (no prizes for guessing who, a name long been touted for a return). Further rumours of players from higher divisions joining us too. The new season cannot com quickly enough!!!

So, it's official. The man with the mullett is no more. Town are after new blood!!

Town Audition For New Announcer

Now, I was never Paul Clarks biggest fan, but didn't hate the guy enough to see him dispensed with, I certainly wont miss "..if you have a blue ticket you are halfway there.." (or as one DATM wag put it "..If you have a white P45 you are halfway there.."), or the mullett or the shiny suit. Suspect Joe Skarz will be glad to see the back of him though, he couldn't be "..Young.." forever.....

Managed to sort my winter holidays off, with time booked off around both fixtures against Crewe, the home match against Leeds (if it is not shifted) and the weekend before my birthday when we entertain Bristol Rovers. I will also be in residence for Stockport on the opening day, and if finance permits at the cup match with Bradford. I am off all that week, but am well aware that my sister is lovingly looking after 2 tickets to see The Searchers in Llandudno on the Friday and any spare cash may well be needed for that!!

The fixtures are out, and we start the new season at home to Stockport. This now further means I have grovelling to do at work, as although I am off from the Monday after that, I've inadvertantly forgot to pencil in that weekend!! I am not missing that, no danger. A full list of fixtures:

Season 08/09

First fixture for next season ha been announced by way of the Craling Cup draw - and it's a home tie against our League Two near-neighbours Bradford City. I suspect Chris Brandon (and Luke Beckett also if the rumours are true) wasn't expecting a return to The Galpharm so soon!! As long as he doesn't score, ay!

Should be a decent crowd, and hopefully a safe first-round passage.

League Cup 1st Round Draw (ties to be played w/c August 11th)

Stan seems to think Danny Cadamarteri will be an important player next season.

Ternent - Cadders Is Key

Lets hope he's right. I don't think DC will get away with his disappearing act around Christmas this season somehow!!

Today is the final FINAL day for cheap season tickets - and the advert has had the desired effect, with the 600 we needed to sell to hit 16,000 sales being achieved at 12 noon today.

16,000 Reasons To Be Cheerful!

Sean Jarvis is very happy with progress at The Galpharm.

Jarvis: Wind Of Change For Town

The new season cannot come quick enough for me now!!!!!!!!

Wonderful news!!

Jackson Gets The All Clear

This has made my day, I knew he'd get through it, just knew it.

And another signing to report.

Jim Goodwin Signs For Town

Now I admit I know very little about him, but I trust Stans judgement on this. Could be a very shrewd move!

Just seen the advert live on TV for the first time. Sneakily I put our Sky digibox on Yorkshire knowing full well it was due an airing!! Sean Jarvis explains:

Jarvis: Town Target Tv Crowd

Boothy reckons the extra fans will act as a 12th man for Town next season.

Booth: Fans Provide Boost

Here is the Town advert as mentioned last week. Blink and you will miss it!!!

Good stuff, gets the message across quick and simple. Three cheers for Sean Jarvis and Dean Hoyle!!

It's official, Chris Brandon is no longer a Town player, and he has joined Bradford.

Brandon Joins The Bantams

Brandon Leaves

I'll miss him, can't lie. I've always had a favourite player at Town during all eras; Jacko first, Jeppo, Marcus, Rob Edwards and now Brando. Sure he was frustrating at times, the Ronaldo flicks (not) making him look a tit at times, but all in all, when he put it in he was as good a player as we have, and I think it is a big mistake not giving him 12 more months, I really think so.

Still, all things come to an end, so here is a quick reminder of possibly his finest moment in a Town shirt - and it happened on a memorable day in January...............
